Operators on the Ciclovia dei Parchi cycle route who are signatories to the Service Charter in the ‘Bike Service’ and ‘Tour Operator’ categories and who wish to provide help-line services to assist travellers passing through may submit an expression of interest.
The service aims to provide assistance to cycle tourists on the route who require:
- bicycle maintenance and/or repair
- retrieval of the bicycle
- transport of people and luggage
- logistical transfers
- a replacement bicycle, if necessary.
Assistance may be requested directly by the user via telephone call, SMS or WhatsApp message, with assistance provided by the participating operator.
The services must be provided for a fee, in accordance with fair and transparent rates, which must be communicated to the applicant in advance. The service guidelines are set out in the downloadable PDF document, which must be read.
The launch of a Help-line also meets the quality standards required by the European Cyclists’ Federation for cycle routes included in the EuroVelo network, of which Route 7 – Ciclovia del Sole is a part.
